About Code Rods

Code Rods was formed in 2018 by very well respected UK rod builders Chris Orme  & Kev Clayton to provide an ‘off-the-shelf’ solution offering the build quality associated with a ‘custom-built’ carp rod at a more affordable price. By combining 30 years’ experience in producing custom carp rods and established relationships with the world’s leading blank and component manufacturers, the concept behind Code Rods was born.

At the design stage, both Chris & Kev called upon historic feedback from their ‘custom-build’ projects to identify the shortcomings in the most popular blanks available today and set about designing a range of rod blanks that overcome these issues.

During the development process, each blank was thoroughly tested in a range of relevant scenarios and where necessary, have been further tweaked to ensure optimum performance. The results being a range of carp rod blanks that have exceeded all expectations.

Renowned for the craftsmanship and quality of their custom builds, Chris & Kev wanted to ensure that their signature eye for detail was represented within each carp rod that Code Rods produce, and with this in mind, every rod in the Code Rods range is finished by hand to their exacting specifications, here in the UK.
