In developing our range of carp rods, we have worked with a number of trusted angling consultants because we understand that every carp angler is looking for something different. It is the differing requirements and perspectives of our consultants that have allowed us to create what are arguably some of the best carp rods available today.

Lewis is our go to man when it comes to testing and getting the best from our rod blanks. A motivated angler who loves the big wild pits of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, searching out big carp from untapped venues. A brick layer by trade, Lewis is married and now has a young family. Lewis is an extremely accomplished long range angler and over the last 6 years has put all of our rods through extreme testing, achieving casts of 248 Meters, that’s 270 plus yards! As a result of his monumental efforts, Lewis now offers casting tuition’s aiming to help anglers achieve both range and accuracy in their casting. Big carp angler Nige needs no introduction.

An oldskool carp angler and a familiar face on and around the Yateley waters. Nige has fished on and around the BIG carp scene for many years. Over this time his CV of captures is second to none, with the likes of Basil, Heather, Arthur and of course the Burghfield common under his belt, along with many more UK 40lb carp. Having also caught both mirrors and commons to over 50lb it was an honour to welcome Nige aboard the Code Rod team. Along with partner Kate, Nige still enjoys chasing the big fish, but is equally happy catching lovely scaley carp in beautiful surroundings.

An accomplished writer and author his excellent book ‘Living the Dream’ was extremely well received.

As well as a gift for the written word, Nige now appears regularly on a variety of you tube filming projects as well as a regular slot on Cypography.

The quiet one in the team, Simon is as underground as they come, but with an enviable big carp album from some of the trickiest venues around.

Despite living on the East side of the Country Simons efforts to travel to big fish waters have paid dividend over the last few years. From Wellington Country Park, the Essex Manor, to the Horton complex, St Ives and many more. Simon has banked an amazing number of big carp from some of the hardest fished venues in the UK. Despite this he keeps a pretty low profile, but we are extremely proud to have someone with Simon’s pedigree using and recommending our tackle and products.

Kate being the Partner of Nigel Sharp it was inevitable that with Nigel’s help and guidance she would quickly get to grips with carp fishing. Despite only angling for a relatively short time Kate has already landed a string of lovely fish on a variety of methods and tactics, including UK mirror and common carp to over 30lb and Mirrors to over 40lb in France!

Kates love of the outdoors is clear to see and along with a natural talent for fishing she is an excellent role model for women’s angling. With her strong social media presence and bubbly personality, we are delighted to have her on board, and part of the Code Rod team.

Tim joined us back in the early part of 2021, having had a background in retail angling sales and printed media experience. An angler of over 35 years, Tim’s been around the carp scene for many years. 

Based on the Cheshire /Staffordshire border most of Tim’s current angling revolves around various Midlands and Northwest club waters and syndicates. 

A one time regular in a variety of monthly publications. With a widespread network of contacts in the angling trade Tim was an obvious choice to strengthen the Code team of consultants. He also currently helps to run and updates our Instagram and facebook pages on a regular bases.
